About Heidi

Heidi I. Jones portraitHeidi I. Jones is an attorney and consultant with 20 years experience advising business owners, nonprofit leaders and individuals how to grow their futures. She has built many long term relationships with clients by always taking the time for thoughtful engagement. She is able to untangle core issues and provide directional and legal advice that acknowledges and aligns with her clients’ values and recognizes their whole selves.

Based in the historic Allentown neighborhood in Buffalo, N.Y., Heidi’s office is specifically welcoming to those who feel excluded from mainstream legal services, including those whose income or issues don’t qualify for nonprofit legal aid programs, including artists, LGBTQ folks, and people of color.

Heidi is a graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School (J.D. with concentrations in community economic development and finance transactions) and Pennsylvania State University (B.A. sociology). She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New York bars. She is currently pursuing an advanced graduate certificate in Mindful Counseling for Wellness & Engagement at University at Buffalo. She has worked in the fields of accounting, communications, community development, programming, IT management and law, in nonprofit, government and for-profit sectors. 

Until recently, Heidi owned The Intersection, a unique coffee shop built around conversation and community at Allen & Elmwood, spends a lot of time with her tiny fluffy dog Chase, and enjoys the thriving live music and art scene in Allentown.

Volunteering

Blossburg V.I.B.E. – In 2004, Heidi founded Blossburg V.I.B.E., a community development nonprofit in her hometown and served as its president for many years. She has continued to support the organization as treasurer and grant writer, bringing in over $1.5 million in grant funding to a borough of 1,500 people.

Summer of Sass – Heidi is former treasurer of the board of directors of Summer of Sass, a nonprofit based in Provincetown, Mass.. Summer of Sass transforms lives by relocating LGBTQI 18-20 year olds from oppressive areas in the United States to the welcoming community of Provincetown.

PUSH Buffalo – Heidi was chair and vice chair of the board of PUSH Buffalo, a leading housing development and community power organization, from 2018 to early 2022. She led a major bylaws revision and the professionalization of PUSH’s financial management.
